Booking a dock
What is DockSpace?
DockSpace is a marketplace for renting private boat docks and slips by the week in the United States. Dock owners list space they aren't using. Boaters search, book and pay online.
How do I book a dock?
Search by location, dates and boat length, open a dock, choose check-in and check-out dates inside one of its availability windows, and select Reserve. You can also add several stays to your cart and pay for them in one checkout.
How is the price calculated?
Each owner sets a weekly rate. Your total is the weekly rate times the number of weeks, and partial weeks round up. A 10-day stay is billed as 2 weeks. The price you see is the price you pay.
Are there booking or service fees for boaters?
No. DockSpace charges boaters no booking fee. The platform's 10% commission comes out of the owner's payout, not your total.
How long can I book for?
From one week up to 52 weeks per booking, as long as the dates fall inside the owner's availability. For a longer season, book consecutive stays or contact us.
How do I know my boat will fit?
Every listing shows its maximum boat length, and you can filter search results by your boat's length. At checkout you pick one of your saved boats for each stay, and a boat longer than the dock allows can't be booked there. If you're close to the limit, confirm beam and draft with the host after booking.
What am I agreeing to when I book?
Each stay is booked under the Dock Rental Agreement between you and the host. It covers use of the dock, your boat's registration and liability insurance, the dock rules, cancellations and liability. Your booking details become its Schedule A. You accept it with one checkbox at checkout, we email you a copy, and you can see every agreement you've accepted under Account, Agreements.
Payments & cancellations
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Card details are entered into a form that sends them straight to Authorize.Net, which turns them into a one-time token in your browser. DockSpace never receives or stores your card number. If you choose to save a card, Authorize.Net stores it and we keep only the last four digits.
When am I charged?
Your card is charged for the full stay when you complete checkout. Adding a dock to your cart doesn't hold the dates or charge anything.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Before your stay begins, open My bookings and choose Request cancellation. Our team reviews each request, and approved refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 3–5 business days. Once a stay has started, contact us.
Who can leave reviews?
Only boaters who booked and stayed at a dock through DockSpace can review it, and only once per booking. That keeps reviews tied to real stays.
For dock owners
How much does it cost to list my dock?
Listing is free. When a booking is paid, DockSpace keeps 10% of the booking total and the rest is your payout. For example, a 2-week booking at $300/week is $600, of which you receive $540.
When do owners get paid?
Owner payouts are released after the renter's stay begins. Each booking in your owner dashboard shows whether its payout is pending or sent, with a reference number.
Can I control when my dock is available?
Yes. Add availability windows for the dates you want to rent, and block out dates when you're using the dock yourself. Renters can only book inside your open windows.
Is my exact address public?
No. Listing pages show the city and an approximate map area. Only boaters with a confirmed booking see the exact address.
